Who we are and what this covers

AstrologyGround is made by DagazLabs. This policy covers the AstrologyGround desktop app for Windows and macOS and the website at astrologyground.app. In this policy, “we”, “us”, and “our” mean DagazLabs.

Desktop app

The app asks for a birth date, birth time, and birth location so it can calculate and display a natal chart and live transits. The confirmed location may include a place name, latitude, longitude, and time zone. This birth data and your app settings are stored locally on your device and processed there. They are not sent to DagazLabs or stored on servers we operate.

If you choose “Save Screenshot”, the app writes the generated image to your Downloads folder. The screenshot is not uploaded by the app. The app contains no advertising, analytics, tracking, telemetry, or crash-reporting service. Apart from the optional location lookup described below and links you choose to open, its core chart calculation works locally.

Optional location lookup

When you search for a place name, the app sends that search text to the public Nominatim service operated by the OpenStreetMap Foundation. When you choose “Look up place name” for coordinates, the app sends only the latitude and longitude. The app does not add your birth date or birth time to either request.

OpenStreetMap receives the query or coordinates and technical data that accompanies an internet request, such as your IP address and app/device information. OpenStreetMap processes this information under its own privacy policy and Nominatim usage policy. Do not put confidential information in the place-search field. You can avoid sending a place-name search by entering latitude and longitude directly and not using the lookup button.

Because OpenStreetMap can retain lookup and technical request records, AstrologyGround’s App Store privacy label discloses Precise Location, Search History, Device ID, and Other Diagnostic Data. The label marks these categories as linked to you because OpenStreetMap may receive identifiers such as an IP address with a request. These categories support app functionality and are not used by AstrologyGround for advertising or tracking across apps or websites.

Website hosting and analytics

When you visit the website, our hosting infrastructure may process standard request and security-log information such as IP address, browser and device type, requested page, referrer, and request time to deliver and protect the site.

We operate our own Umami instance, hosted on Vercel, for cookieless website analytics. It measures page views and sessions using information such as the requested page, page title, referrer, browser language, screen size, browser, operating system, device type, and approximate country. Umami derives a rotating session identifier from technical request data; we do not use it to identify you, create an account, advertise to you, or track you across unrelated websites. We respect your browser’s Do Not Track setting and exclude URL search parameters from analytics. Website analytics cannot read or infer your birth chart or the birth data stored in the desktop app.

Service providers and sharing

We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We use Cloudflare to host and secure the website, Vercel to host our Umami analytics service, and OpenStreetMap’s Nominatim service for the optional app lookup described above. If you choose to play a video on the website, the site loads YouTube’s privacy-enhanced player and YouTube/Google may receive the video request and ordinary technical information from your browser.

These providers may process information only for their stated services and under their own privacy terms. Where we appoint a provider to process personal information for us, we require privacy and security protections consistent with this policy and applicable law. Providers may also disclose information when legally required.

Contact messages

If you contact us at [email protected], we receive your email address, message, and anything else you choose to include. We use it to reply, provide support, and manage the related product or beta conversation. Please do not send birth data or other sensitive information in a support message unless it is necessary for your request.

Retention, deletion, and your choices

• App data: birth data and settings remain on your device until you clear them in the app, reset the app’s data, or remove the remaining local files with your operating system’s file-management tools. Use “Clear birth data” in the app to remove saved birth data. You can delete saved screenshots like any other local file.
• Location lookup: DagazLabs does not receive or retain Nominatim requests. OpenStreetMap controls its service logs and retention under its own policy.
• Website data: Umami analytics are cookieless and non-identifying to DagazLabs. We do not attach them to an account, email address, or other identity, so we cannot locate or delete analytics for a particular visitor. Hosting providers retain technical and security logs under their own retention policies.
• Messages: we keep contact messages as long as needed to handle the request, maintain relevant support records, and meet legal obligations.

DagazLabs has no user-account database and receives no copy of the birth data stored in the app, so there is no server-side app record for us to access or delete. If you have contacted us, you may ask us to delete your correspondence by emailing [email protected], subject to records we must retain for legal or security reasons.

Where applicable law gives you additional privacy rights, we will honour them for personal information that we can reasonably identify and control. We process website operations and security data for our legitimate interest in running a safe service, and contact data to answer your request or provide support.

Security, children, changes, and contact

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures appropriate to the information we handle. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.

AstrologyGround is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

We may update this policy when the app, website, providers, or legal requirements change. We will post the revised policy here and change the “Last updated” date. For privacy questions or requests, email [email protected]. You can also read our Terms of Service or the product story.
